The 2026 Ballot Is Open!
The wait is over. Entry for the 2026 World Stone Skimming Championships is now open via our new ballot system.
What You Need to Know
After years of tickets selling out in minutes, we’ve introduced a fairer system that gives everyone an equal chance to compete. Here’s how it works:
The Ballot System
- Enter anytime between now and 4th April 2026
- One entry fee: £5 per person (non-refundable)
- First Draw conducted: Within 2 days of closing (around 6th April)
No more frantic refreshing. Just a fair chance for everyone who wants to compete.
How It Works
- Pay £5 to enter the ballot – this reserves your spot in the draw and supports our local community
- Wait for the draw – we’ll email you the results
- If you’re successful – you’ll have 4 days to register your details, then 3 days to purchase your competition ticket(s)
- If you’re unsuccessful – you’ll get improved odds in next year’s ballot
Entry Types
Single Adult Entry
One competitor only. Ideal if you’re competing solo, or registering a friend.
Note: If you’re registering multiple adults, each needs a separate ballot entry.
Family Entry
Must include at least one child/junior (under 16). You can register up to 2 adults + 3 children/juniors in total.
Important: Junior tickets cannot be exchanged for adult tickets later.
Family entries get a higher chance in the draw!
Pricing
- Ballot entry: £5 per person
- Competition tickets (if drawn): £20 adults, £5 children/juniors
All proceeds support Easdale’s harbour, community hall, our museum, and local charities.
Already Qualified?
If you finished in any of these categories last year, you have automatic entry and should not enter the ballot:
- Top 50 skimmers overall
- Top 10 female skimmers
- Winners and runners-up in each category
- Winners of affiliated international competitions
Check your email for your personal registration code, or contact us at registration@stoneskimming.com.
Why the Change?
The championships have grown beyond anything we imagined. With global demand and limited capacity, the old first-come-first-served system just wasn’t fair any more. The ballot ensures everyone gets an equal shot, whilst the small entry fee helps us cover the rising costs of hosting the competition safely.
Important Dates
- Ballot Opens: 1st February 2026
- Ballot Closes: 4th April 2026 (midnight)
- First Draw Conducted: Within 2 days of closing
- Registration Deadline: 4 days after being drawn
- Ticket Purchase Deadline: 3 days after registration
Ready to Enter?
The ballot closes on 4th April, so don’t miss your chance.
